Was a flying visit to Lisbon this year for christmas…went on Saturday the 24th and flew back on Monday the 26th. Was too short really but I did get to spend a lot of time at home with my parents for a change so that was good. As soon as I arrived we drove through the city centre and me and me mum ended up going up the newly reopened Elevador do Carmo. Was really good to go up it again after so long. There’s some amazing views from the top of the Baixa Lisboeta! Plus there’s a café up at the top where you can have a quick coffee, or a couple of beers when its warmer.

Stayed in Lisbon this year, just the three of us : me and my parents. Next year England or Porto definately. But it was good to have a quiet christmas at home this year, even if it was a shame not to see everyone. Ended up drinking and eating ALOT and this week I have been mostly eating soup since I need a break from heavy eating. Sunday night I could not eat dinner…oh the humanity. Anyways, ended up going over Alex K’s with Pedro V and Jessica was over too so we had some laughing fits watching weird mangled G.I. Joe videos…mmm mmm mmm.

I took some photos around Lisbon, although I never take enough photos when I’m there. Hope everyone had a good holiday…mine was rancho relaxo, and good thing too!

  2. Hi powlow, saw your comment about the iSun solar charger. You were asking what is available in Europe. Just by chance I am comparing the iSun with the Solio charger made in the UK. Check out http://www.solio.com/html/index.html Its a bit dearer than the iSun but the solio is very light and works off mains charging, car (cigarette lighter) charging, solar charging and you can buy a whole host of adapters for mp3, ipods & phones and everything else you can basically think of. They go at around ?45 or roughtly 70 euros. Check out ebay & amazon and just put in ‘solio’ as a search and you will get a loads of info & goods. Hope this is of help. Love Spain, spanish people and will be climbing Mulhacen at the end of the month….though I would help a ‘euro’ brother out…chow. david howells (wales, uk)
