Its been too long…again

Its been way too long since I’ve posted anything here. I’ve been really busy lately what with class, exercises at school and changes at work. But its all been good and I’m not complaining. Just have no down time at all at the moment and no time to do stuff like actually make music, update this here blog and ride my bike. I hardly have time to hang out with Cris! Its all quite mental at the moment but I’m hoping it will calm down a bit soon or at least get more bearable. I’ve recently updated my “studio” setup at home so I’m all setup to make new music once I have some time.

This weekend is going to be just mental as I have a wedding on Friday and a concert on Saturday (all day from like 16:00 to 03:00) : almost 12 hours of hard and semi-hard core

I will update this more often! Keep watching the skies!

Collecting Mushrooms

This weekend ended with going out and collecting mushrooms (a.k.a. bolets) in some woods not too far from Barcelona. It was actually quite a bit of fun and I’ll definately go and do it again sometime. Its not that easy if you’re not quite sure what you’re looking for and clearly you have to be quite careful as two similar looking mushrooms can have quite different effects on your body : one tasty the other toxic or deadly. Still, with a bit of practise you can definately learn and the hand picked ones are the tastiest of course. We did actually get some good ones but we’d mixed them up with some bad ones and so, to be on the safe side, we ended up not eating any of them. But we got some practise and next time we know what to look for. However, this is not something for the late riser as if you get there late there’s nothing left to pick!

After the picking session, we had lunch in a smallish village know for its mineral water. Great lunch with a few plates of the elusive mushrooms : tasty tasty lunch with some strong wine to wash it all down. Good relaxing day with some fresh mountain air. Always good to get away from the city for a bit.

Visita a Barcelona do Pablo, a Anne e o Cento

Este fim de semana chegaram o Pablo, a Anne e o Cento cá pra visitar a Barcleona. E foi um fim de semana comprido porreiro.

Tinha visto ao Pablo e a Anne à pouco tempo em Lisboa mas foi a primeira vez que vieram cá visitar-me e já eram horas! O Cento já nao o tinham visto à pra ai um ano!

Foi muito fixe te-los todos cá em casa e ver-los por aqui. Demos voltinhas de mota, de carro e a pé. Tivemos com a Mixa, que agora tá a viver cá também. Vimos as festas de Grácia. Bebemos. Comemos. Falamos. Fomos à praia. Fomos à discoteca e vimos que até qualquer um consegure entrar a DJ Apanhamos chuva. Bué. Vimos rios de aguá de chuva e vimos que dava pra fazer skimmy na rua.

Enfim, cenas e teve-se muito bem. Até à próxima gente!

Já Tenho Mota

Wohooo! Já tenho mota! Finalmente! É do caraças ir por esta cidade de mota. Wohooo! Ao final decidi por uma scooter pois tem muito mas sentido pra esta cidade. É uma 125 cc em negro mate, uma Honda Dylan 125.

Noite de Música

Ontem foi noite de música! Tive com o Dabintxi e primeiro tivemos no miscelanea a ver os Izu : era um gajo a mixturar con computador e umas controladoras, outro gajo que tocava baixo y trompete e também mixturarva, outro a cantar, uma gajo a tocar flauta e um gajo a mixturar video em directo. Muito bom mesmo. Notava-se uma influência hardcore do vocalista mas lembrava Jazzanova, mas mais sujo, e com partes drum and bass, partes mais duras, partes muito calmas. Granda mistura.

Depois fomos jantar ao Guixot, onde nunca tinha estado, que, ainda por cima, está ao lado de uma zona onde ando bastante. Bocatas e crepes, salgados e doces, e mais. Come-se bem e é barato ainda por cima, que aqui, é dizer bastante

Depois de jantar, fomos a uma festa reggae numa casa okupa, de massive sound que levam uma beca já a organizar festas por aqui. Ontem era a festa after do concerto de Gentleman e tava cheio. Muito bom e o sítio era brutalmente grande.

Fim de Semana de Calçotada

Este fim de semana foi a calçotada na rua Mozart em Grácia. Já sou Amic del Carrer de Mozart, que significa que posso beber mais barato nas festas de Grácia, que este ano não vou perder porque é uma granda festa de bairro! Os calçots são uma especie de cebola daqui que crescem com um metodo especial e depois são churrascados. Quando chegam à mesa, vêem pretos. Tems que pelar-los e depois comem-se com molho Romesco. Muito bom! E depois claro as imprescendiveis “botifarras” ou salsichas e molho de alho, tudo com xibecas e vinho tinto com gaseosa. E isto claro na rua, a fechar uma rua ao transito. Boa vida…

Fim de Semana em Cap de Creus

Este fim de semana tive em Cap de Creus na Costa Brava Catalana. Grande sítio! É mesmo um espectâculo. Parece o fim do mundo e tems vistas de mar e de montanha : de um lado costa de rocha com caminhos e do outro montanhas com neve (nesta altura do ano). Foi altamente relax. Muito recomendado. Birthday

It’s my birthday today. 28 years old! Just got a cool present which means I know have a complete snorkeling setup for when it gets warmer…can’t wait for some warmer weather!

Going out for dinner with a few people tonight, and I’ll post some pictures and an update tomorrow.

Update

Just got back from dinner…here’s a snap of the people at the dinner, minus two…Was a good dinner with lots of barbeque and wine in an excellent place I hadn’t been to before…Got some really cool presents which I really wasn’t expecting…very cool. Was strange though…Kind of sad but kind of good…Damn I must be getting old. Anyways was a good dinner and I’m glad everyone made it out. Cheers!

Viagem a Eivissa

Acabo de voltar de Ibiza. Grande viagem! Fui visitar a Cris que é de lá. Acabei por ficar cinco dias, chegando de manhãzinha o primeiro dia e a bazar à noite no último. Também fomos dois dias a Formentera : que paraíso. As duas ilhas, chamadas as Ilhas Pitiusas, são um espectâculo e altamente relax, com a óbvia nite a 100% em Ibiza. Eu consegui não entrar em nem uma discoteca ou bar, e assim vi Ibiza de maneira diferente. E valeu! Fiz submarinismo e fiquei com uma vontade brutal de ter o equipamento mínimo pra poder repetir quando quiser…de momento só o básico de barbatanas, óculos e um tubo claro. Foram ums dias altamente relax e altamente!

A única merda foi agravar uma inflamação do nervo ciático, que quer dizer que estou de cama e/ou sem poder andar/mexer-me muito durante as próximas duas semanas. Mas prontos, é assim a vida. Estou em casa agora com baixa no trabalho. Vou aproveitar para por o sono em dia, ver filmes, programar e tocar guitara. Boas férias people!

Third World Travel Stories, Aerial Photographs & Serious Geekness

Just found a site called Polo’s Bastards, which has stories and information about third world country travel and politics. The travel stories are excellent, like the two writeups (part 1 & part 2) of a three part story called “Into Iraq – A Traveler’s Journal”. The journal is a good read, even if it is just a personal journal. This reminds me of Oxford Man in Afghanistan which is also a good read, complete with photos.

Some really nice aerial photos here.

And while I’m at it, this guy is seriously a geek. Wow. Amazing the kind of modding he comes up with. Interesting read if you are a geek. Shower-time video conferencing, booting off an ipod, a cigarrette lighter in your pc and solar charging mobile devices are just some of the craziness.
